Pastor Carrie greatly enjoys coloring, playing dress-up, reading books and taking long naps. This is probably also why she has so much fun in Preschool Chapel and interacting with all of her young friends in Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten.
The best part of being a pastor is watching others grow in their faith. Especially the children who see the world with so much awe, wonder and energy.
There is nothing more exciting than leading a bunch of pre-school children in worship! They are bright-eyed, trusting, inquisitive and completely engaged! No wonder Jesus said, “Receive the kingdom of God like a little child.” (NIV) Recently I was invited to provide the chapel services for the pre-school. My own faith is renewed as I watch these little bundles of energy and love dip their fingers in baptismal water and say, “I remember Jesus loves me.” We opened God’s book and learned about rainbows and promises and God’s love. As we sang together, we stood and waved rainbow ribbons in the air. When we pass in the halls of Hope, they wave at me, call out my name, and are quick to hug. I learn about community from these precious little ones. “And a little child shall lead them.” (IS 11:6)
